um, jollibee? [bakit ba kailangan ng title?]

i heard mass with carla and paul today. sayang, ndi pwede sina ethel at kennard. anyway, carla convinced me to join their org. it's called oyc or olap youth community. i think it's okay naman so i joined nga. nakikinig k'se ako sa meeting nila kanina. i think it's fun to be a part of their org esp. dahil mabait ung mga tao, pero sinabi ko na kay carla na baka ndi ako gaano maka-attend ng meetings dahil nga sa toxicity ng buhay sa imed. sabi nya okay lang daw kahit sa outings lang mag-show up. hehe. i also saw other elem friends -- geric, jaecy, and roja. after nung meeting nila, kumain kami sa jollibee kung saan nanlibre si carla/howard [ndi ko alam kung sino talaga]. so un, usap-usap. =)

"grimace is barney the dinosaur's brother"

grimace looks more like barney's obese grandfather! =)

the color of my new layout [which is NOT my favorite color =)] reminds me of GRIMACE... maraming nagtatanong kung ano ba talaga si grimace. according to googlism:

- grimace is not a lump of purple jelly
- grimace is not a butt
- grimace is a hero
- grimace is barney the dinosaur's brother
- grimace is the most esoteric character in history
- grimace is a big fuzzy purple fellow
- grimace is the driver for yet another show
- grimace is widely accepted as a figure of evil
- grimace is a large furry purple fellow
- grimace is ronald's special pal
- grimace is a mcdonald's character
- grimace is what you get on the face of your kid if you don't buy him a happy meal
- grimace is the guy from boiled pudding
- grimace is a sweet potato
- grimace is the man

Grimace (or "The Grimace") is a fictional character who was once part of the marketing campaign of McDonald's. The McDonaldland character was a large, jolly fellow who looked like a large purple gumdrop with small arms and legs. He was known for his smiling face and simple demeanor.

In the first cycle of McDonaldland commercials, Grimace was the "Evil Grimace", with several pairs of arms with which to steal Triple-Thick Shakes. After that first campaign, the character was revised to be one of the "good guys", and his number of arms was reduced to two.

Today, Grimace is generally portrayed in McDonald's commercials and merchandise as a sort of well-meaning doofus, whose clumsy antics provide a comic foil to the more serious and mature Ronald McDonald. His trademark expression is "Duh..."

Grimace is a fantasy character, and not intended to "be" anything specific. However, ever since the character's introduction there has been much speculation (though much of it tongue-in-cheek) about his appearance. Because the majority of McDonald's characters more or less directly represent a food product sold at the restaurants (i.e., Mayor McCheese, Fryguys, Chicken McNuggets Buddies, etc.), many have naturally tried to guess as to what, if any, food product Grimace is supposed to represent. A common speculation is that he is supposed to be a giant McNugget, though there are many more fanciful attempted explanations. In reality Grimace's "official" role, according to McDonald's, continues to be to represent the chain's famous milkshakes. However, he does this out of love for the taste, and not because he is in any way a shake-based creature himself.

wala akong maisip na title

we went to the mall today to get myself a new pair of shoes. i bought a pair of white keds microstretch sneakers...

wala lang. tapos, we went to the grocery. kumuha ako ng almond jelly at black gulaman [impluwensiya ni ate josephine na araw-araw gustong kumain ng black gulaman =)]. at kumuha rin ako ng maraming coffee [but i'm not yet addicted to it naman]. ewan ko, masarap lang talagang kumain ngayong sembreak kaya marami akong kinuhang pagkain like:

- oishi plain salted natural [really?] potato chips [taste so much like lay's classic but cheaper =)]
- shrimpballs
- crabcakes
- hershey's extra creamy milk chocolate nuggets w/ toffee & almonds
- samba white chocolate bonbons [discovered through the benevolence of sir baclig =)]
- chips ahoy

=) i think i'm gonna eat all the way 'til classes resume. buti na lang i never get fat. hehe. =)

my new layout is so purple. oh well, pwede na rin. makilala pa kaya ito ng gumawa ng template na ito? kung anu-ano na ginawa ko dito eh. hehe. =)

feng shui

look into the mirror... what do you see?

did you see yourself? if you did, have your eyes checked. hehe. =)

i was looking for something to do yesterday and i found a pirated vcd of feng shui. [yes, our family harbors pirated vcds. that's a secret, okay? hehe. =)] since i'm bored to death, i decided to watch it. anyway, people have been telling me that it's a good one.

well, what can i say? so-so. it was not as scary as i expected it to be. not much like the asian horror films i've watched, but it was a close attempt. i think it deserves credit for its new-fangled plotline, but the makeup and prosthetics were quite disappointing. the ghost of the bagua mirror, lotus feet, was ghastly but not scary. as a matter of fact, i think she looks funny [mala-espasol ang dating] hehe. =) plus, there was an awful twist on the death of the people who looked into the bagua mirror wherein one's death occurs in relation to one's astrological birth year. i found lotlot de leon's death quite absurd. she was born in the year of the horse, and i was wondering how in the world could she be trampled upon by horses in a typical urban neighborhood. surprise, kabayo ng plantsa at mga bote ng red horse beer! hehe. fine. oh well, at least the writer was able to come up with something.

here are a few rave reviews [...that i don't totally agree with. hehe =)]:

Mrs. Cory Aquino – "It's suspenseful every step of the way… kailangang may kasama ka kasi masyado nakakanerbyos. It's really scary. No time to relax, waiting for those moments. Kris did a good job. She scared all of us. I think it's her best so far."

Dr. Vicky Belo – "Nakakatakot! Di na 'ko makakatulog mamayang gabi. Kelangan ko na ng bodyguard. Ganda! Grabe it was so scary!"

Fe Reyes, DTI – "One word… hair-raising! I recommend it. Please watch it."

Ricky Lo, The Philippine Star – "The ending alone is worth the admission price. The best of Kris!"

Rikka Dylim, ABS-CBN Talent Center – "It was really scary. Di ko siya kaya!"

Carlos Agassi – "Congratulations, Ms. Kris, Direk Chito, Star Cinema, and ABS-CBN. Pang-international! Sobrang nakakatakot! Napasigaw nga ako, nakakahiya eh. Good movie! Nakakatakot! Nakakagulat!"

Angge – "Di ako makapanood! Afraid ang beauty ko 'day!"

who's angge? hehe. anyway, the movie was okay naman. but it's not something that i would want to watch again, kahit daw "ang hindi manood, dadalawin ni lotus feet..." hehe. =)
