1st sem musings
listed below are a few odd things i've learned last sem:
from history 5...
- new human organs: pulse, spirit, phlegm, bile [what?! hehe. joke. =)]
- the bureau of quarantine SERVICE is absolutely not the same as the bureau of quarantine SERVICES.
- the board of health OF manila is also different from the board of health IN manila.
from humanidades 1...
- huh?! meron ba akong natutunan dito?! hmmm... ah, words like tsisborger.
hehe.
from humanities 2...
- after the architecture part of this subject, terms like cantilevering, post-and-lintel,
pointed arch, flying buttress, groin vault, cornice,
frieze, architrave, pediment, and the like enter my mind everytime i see buildings with prominent architectural features. errr... lots of these stuff in intramuros. haha.
from chem 31...
- i'm a total disaster when it comes to organic chemistry, but it's possible to pass the exams even when you don't listen to class discussions.
from physics 51 lec...
- oh, i never learn anything from the physical sciences. i never liked them...
hehe. =)
from physics 51 lab...
- ewan.
from bio 25 lec...
- you absolutely can't eat breakfast in class. banned.
- when studying for quizzes, memorize stuff which don't even seem to matter so you won't be surprised.
remember: right is right, wrong is wrong, and incomplete is wrong.
from bio 25 lab...
- cats who end up [quite literally] in dissection labs are poor creatures. just imagine the horror of extracting a cat's brain and wrecking its
[extremely-hard-and-requires-the-use-of-a-hacksaw] skull and vertebral column in the process [mukha nang corned beef ung laman ng cat namin after], dissecting out its eye, and cutting through its muscles all over, including its tongue.
- again, when studying for quizzes, memorize stuff which don't even seem to matter so you won't be surprised.
remember again: right is right, wrong is wrong, and incomplete is wrong.
- math exams can be disguised in the form of biology exams.
- i still don't know which rbc/wbc to include when counting.
- when one experiences nausea and/or vertigo, it's because of those vibrating hair cells and endolymph
circulating in one's ears. whatever. hehe. =)
all in all, that's 21 units! next sem, 19.5 na lang. i hope i don't have any problems with my subjects because i don't wanna go through the rigorous change mat process again! lagi na lang akong minamalas sa registration. errr... i hope i get the pe 2 walking lec friday sked. haha, parang weird ang pe na 'yan pero mas okay na kaysa sa kung anong sports, baka bumagsak pa ako doon. sana rin may nat sci 4 na ako dahil ayoko ng nat sci 1 at math 1. physical sciences
at math na naman un eh. errr...
i had a haircut yesterday. trip lang. =) i started reading the solitaire mystery and it's so much like
sophie's world with all the philosophical stuff and book-within-a-book style. but i'll have to read it anyway because it was a gift to me.
=)
gusto ko ng cable tv!!! haaay... i watched an episode of born diva yesterday. grabe, mag-undergo ka ba naman ng facial surgery na
gising [hopefully anesthetized naman]? the surgeon was already like lifting the
girl's nasal cartilage and making incisions along her eyebag area. how far will people go to satiate their vanity? grabe. i also watched
kontrobersyal and it featured student prostitutes lurking inside malls. kawawa naman sila, ung iba nagtratrabaho para sa pamilya pero ndi alam ng pamilya nila ung work nila. what if their parents watched last night and recognized them? hirap na talaga ng buhay
ngayon...
i went to hear mass kanina. good girl. hehe. =) ndi naman ako catholic eh kaya i don't go to mass often. but when i do, i go to the our lady of the annunciation parish along mindanao avenue. it's the only church i've been to which has the risen christ as the central figure. and yes, it's a catholic church. i'm a protestant
k'se so it's okay to go there. my dad's a catholic and i went with him this afternoon.
it feels good to laze around after a semester's bloody work. exaggerated yata ung bloody. okay, hard na lang. have to recharge for the ominous semester ahead. ominous? yes. lots of embryology + biochem + more physical sciences esp. those parts which i really hate [i.e., optics and the one with resistance, capacitance, and kirchoff's law].
waaah!
i'm babbling, ain't i? stop me... i'm gonna watch the haunting on channel
2 later. =)
